Paying your rent
Rent should be paid in advance.
We will offer as many ways as possible for you to pay your rent.
- By Housing Benefit, if you are out of work have a low income, or in receipt of a pension you may be entitled to claim housing benefit to help you pay your rent. Housing benefit can cover some or all of your rent and service charges. You remain responsible for claiming Housing Benefit and ensuring that it is paid to First Wessex. You are also responsible for any rent / service charges not covered by housing benefit or any periods when benefit is not awarded.
- By standing order or direct debit, straight from your bank account. If you wish to start paying by standing order or direct debit, please telephone your local office (contact details) or complete the form on our web site www.firstwessex.org
- At the post office or a shop displaying the PayPoint logos. Most PayPoint outlets do not accept cheques but may accept debit cards. A full list of local outlets is available from your area office or on the Allpay web site http://www.allpay.net/outlets.
- By telephone, using your rent payment card and debit card at your local office during office hours. After hours 365 days a year, 24 hours per day, telephone 0870 2436040 and follow the instructions (this is an automated service)
- In person in any one of our three main offices located in Eastleigh, Portsmouth or Aldershot. These Offices will accept cash, cheque, or debit cards 9.00 am – 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.

- By sending a cheque or postal order through the post to:
